The origins of the University of Jaén go back to the creation of the University of Baeza in the Modern Age, with a long journey until 1993, when it began its journey as an autonomous institution. Since then, the University of Jaén has been able to respond to the demands of the academic community, and of society as a whole.
Ours is a young, dynamic University with an excellent human capital, as evidenced by its progress in many different fields since its creation in 1993. Among our most important objectives is the transfer of knowledge, so that it, at its To have an impact on our economic and social environment, helping, as far as possible, to improve the living conditions of our citizens. In fact we have already marked unquestionable milestones in the field of renewable energies, the production and marketing of olive oil, or the promotion of our cultural heritage.
